The Ferrari Mondial (Type F108) is a mid-engined V8 sports grand tourer produced by Ferrari between 1980 and 1993. It was offered in coupe or convertible bodywork, replaced the Ferrari 308/208 GT4 coupe and carried the last rear central V8 of model 2+2 created by Ferrari.
The name Mondial (from the French world or global) comes from the history of motorsport at Ferrari. The 500 Mondial was the most successful lightweight sports car of the early 50s, winning the 1952 and 1953 Formula 1 championships. The name was revived when Enzo Ferrari won the Formula 1 manufacturers’ world championships in 1975, 1976, 1977 and 1979. Conceived as a “practical” Ferrari, the Mondial is a very genuine long-seater four-seater, with enough space for children and young adults. It also has surprisingly good rear visibility for a mid-engine vehicle.
