The Ferrari F12 Berlinetta (Type F152) is a front mid-engine, rear-wheel-drive grand tourer produced by Italian automobile manufacturer Ferrari. The F12 Berlinetta debuted at the 2012 Geneva Motor Show, and replaced the 599 grand tourer. The naturally aspirated 6.3 litre Ferrari V12 engine used in the F12 Berlinetta has won the 2013 International Engine of the Year Award in the Best Performance category and Best Engine above 4.0 litres. Named “The Supercar of the Year 2012” by car magazine Top Gear before being replaced by the 812 Superfast in early 2017.
Pininfarina’s styling focuses on a brilliant balance of proportions. The design has an innovative and original look, with many elements taken from the 12-cylinder Ferrari tradition. The car is dressed in sleek, aggressive, low-slung lines, with flanks where curved, sloping contours channel the air flowing from the bonnet. The two aerodynamic channels, created by reducing the volume between the spoilers and the central bonnet bulge, pass under a bridge in the area between the front wheel arch and the lower A-pillar, before flowing into the flanks and, despite its compact exterior size, it offers an excellent cabin in terms of space and comfort.
The rear of this Ferrari f12 is characterised by a modern and functional reinterpretation of the familiar “Kamm” tail, which seamlessly integrates the two vertical walls of the rear diffuser. The resulting original “T” shape also incorporates two circular tail lights and full LED lights with a rear fog light clearly inspired by Formula 1.5 The boot capacity is remarkably good, considering the type of car it is, with 320 litres (84.5 galAm) of capacity, more than most cars in the same class.
